Math Tutor Jobs

Job Summary
Tutors in ITEC’s iMath program help 4th-6th grade students in the Lansing School District build
crucial math skills. Tutors travel to local upper elementary schools, working with a single small
group of students throughout the year. Students use online math software that learns each
student’s grade level, strengths, and weaknesses in order to provide customized questions.
Tutors are expected both to improve their students’ understanding of math and build
mentoring relationships over the course of the school year. This is an excellent opportunity to
gain practical teaching experience while making a difference for local children. All tutors
undergo paid training.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:

• Availability between 3:30 – 5 pm at least twice a week
• A firm grasp of basic math concepts.
• Proven experience working with children, especially in an educational setting.
• An enthusiastic approach and willingness to work as part of a team.
