Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and ensure an accurate inventory control system including stock room inventory and work in process inventory.
  • Oversee performance against key metrics including material budgets, supplier on time delivery and quality.
  • Support engineering in NPD activities via Supplier Selection, Supplier communications & collaborations, contract negotiations and prototyping.
  • Manage and lead the purchasing team, material planning team, and stock inventory team responsible for providing the following multiple key functions for the Organization:
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written to provide effective and timely communications with/to varied audiences.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and teamwork.
  • Work in self-managed team environment with minimal direct supervision.
  • General business skills – including the ability to understand requirements from a strategic perspective and translate those requirements to meet expectations and future needs.
  • Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
  • Coordinate all activities to make sure the purchasing operations continue to have full alignment with all policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality to monitor & report supplier performance and develop new suppliers
  • Be able to manage ambiguity and multiple, ad hoc requests (Flexible).
  • Manage the Material operations and processes including purchasing, material planning, inventory control & kitting
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership and team skills (ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships based on win – win goals and objectives).
  • Strong technical skills for following commodities: Machining, Casting, Raw Materials & Stampings
  • Self Motivator
  • Demonstrated effective personal computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the like.
  • Demonstrated effective planning, organizing, computer, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to integrate and implement strategies with purchasing objectives.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strategic focus; ability to analyze, formulate and implement strategies to improve value.
  • Minimum 5 years industry background in Purchasing Management role or related disciplines
  • Travel required (domestic US & Worldwide)
  • Experience in, and the ability to interact credibly within management and functional areas.
  • Demonstrated effective communications (oral, written, and electronic) and interpersonal skills.
