Materials Buyer Jobs

Ainsley Search Group is hiring a Materials Buyer/Planner for a fast growing, Global Manufacturer based on South Jersey. The ideal individual will report to the Supply Chain Manager and work closely with Supply Chain, logistics, Suppliers, Manufacturing and based on inventory, production and demand to develop the proper replenishment of direct and indirect materials, procure and replenish supplies with suppliers, maintain supplier relations and manage supplier performance, engaged contract review, negotiation, further improve overall purchasing process. Responsibilities:

• Manage suppliers’ portfolio, collect, and analyze data regarding vendor performance, vendor lead-times, backorder ratios, return ratios and quality compliance, support vendor audit as needed.
• Handle sudden changes of customer orders, demand, and production, and modify raw material replenishment and inventory level based on changes.
• Ensure quality compliance based on customer requirement, ensure ongoing dialogue with suppliers to reduce lead-times and drive cost down, ensure supplier quality and on-time delivery.
• Monitor suppliers’ performance; ensure compliance on supplier lead-time, delivery, and quality.
• Generate reports on supplier performance, alert management with supplier issues.
• Support suppliers RFQ and RFP based on purchasing demand and further improve purchasing process, manage supplier contract, and support negotiation as needed with suppliers.
• Create purchasing orders and release order to Suppliers, collaborate with cross functional team to ensure vendor performance meets corporate policy and compliance, ensure on-time delivery on PO.
• Support new product development project on new materials sourcing, supplier qualifications and onboarding as needed.
• Conduct data analysis and participate in S&OP process based on historical and forecasted demand, capacities, inventory performance to determine, develop and implement process improvement and cost saving strategies, support the determination of new supplier sourcing, supplier contract volume changes, etc.
• Follow up with suppliers on orders status; follow up with 3PL on shipment arrival date.
• Report to Supply Chain Manager to oversee inventory planning and purchasing of direct and indirect supplies, develop replenishment strategies based on forecast, production, and inventory, ensure proper safety and cycle stock level to accommodate daily and short-term production capacity.
• Conduct qualities check on in-bound shipment and process returned orders to suppliers.

Qualifications:

• Solid experience with MRP/ERP.
• Problem solver and solid analytical skills, keen in process improvement and lean practice.
• Able to pass background check and drug screen.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Solid experience with Excel Spreadsheet.
• Recent years’ work experience in within manufacturing industry as purchasing specialist, supply planner, materials planner, etc.
