Position Summary:
The successful candidate's primary responsibilities include general labor duties including but not limited to wash down and general maintenance of the coke conveyor system and work areas. Check fluid levels and change rollers throughout the conveyor system. Cross-train on the coke loading dock as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Preform thorough pre and post-trip inspections
  • Report maintenance issues to the maintenance crew
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment
  • Understands our critical service requirements and see they are met
  • Take an active role in our safety program including attendance at all safety meetings and ensuring safe behaviors
  • Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations; i.e. maintenance, clean up
  • Contribute to a coke-handling team by operating several pieces of equipment that will help move, stockpile, and prepare petroleum coke for distribution
  • Operate any one of the following on a daily basis: ECrane, a Cat 988 Loader, a Komatsu 1250 Excavator, and a Cat 247 Multi Terrain Loader
  • Expand personal knowledge of operating equipment
Required Experience:
  • Must be comfortable with heights including the ability to walk up and down conveyor belt lines and climb ladders
  • Must meet refinery standards for entering the plant, i.e. clean criminal history, ability to pass a hair-follicle drug screen, currently possess a Current and TWIC card at the time of applying
  • Additionally, any knowledge dealing with conveyor systems will be considered a plus, but a willingness to learn the conveyor system is a must.
  • Should understand best practices of maintaining and safely operating Heavy Equipment
  • Caterpillar Excavator and front-end loader experience is preferred
  • Must be physically able to handle large tools and equipment (60 lbs), climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights.
  • Extensive experience operating large pieces of heavy equipment
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be safety conscious and understand safe work practices for a refinery
