Job Description
Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Sugar Land TX 77478
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Rate: 19.00/Hr.-$20.00/Hr.
Job Summary
  • Cycle counts and bin to bin movements.
  • Training with assistance on all areas of material handling and distribution including unloading, distribution, output documentation, delivery, locating, interpreting information, separating duties, packing, assembly of kits for manufacturing within one of the following areas: parts room, warehouse, shipping/receiving.
Key Functions
  • Complete and accurate cycle counting.
  • Wear PPE always and observe health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines using written instructions and checklist.
  • Training includes unloading, distributing, output documentation, delivery, locating, interpreting information, separating duties, packing, assembly of kits for manufacturing, issuing parts to work orders.
  • Complete accurate inventory transactions in area of training.
  • Employees may be assigned other duties in addition to or in lieu of those described above, and any duties are subject to change at any time according to the needs of the company.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve simpler inventory balance problems.
  • Training with assistance within one of the following areas of materials handling and distribution: parts room, warehouse, shipping/receiving, planner locations.
  • Awareness of 6S standards in area.
  • Training with assistance on our internal business management systems and SAP (computer literacy). SAP experience is a must.
  • Training in labeling of materials.
  • Complete and accurate cycle counting.
  • Complete accurate inventory transactions in functional areas of expertise.
  • Create labor records for all transactions.
  • Functional use of all automated or semi-automated equipment.
  • Successfully complete required safety training (including but not limited to forklift, drugs, and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving).
  • Training with issuing and maintaining shop / general suppliers.
Education
  • Minimum High School or Equivalency.
Experience
  • 0-3 Year experience in a similar work environment.
