Job Description
Job Summary: A Material Handler II performs a wide range of basic duties to help maintain warehouse stock and assist in fulfilling orders, including loading/unloading trucks for shipping and receiving within a fast-paced work environment. All responsibilities must be carried out safely to provide customer satisfaction to our internal and external customers, as consistent with Makita's company values. The role will focus on satisfying internal and external customers as efficiently as possible with a goal of 100% performance.   • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to drive all pieces of equipment within the warehouse. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers. Education and/or Experience Desired:
  • Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changes in workload requirements.
  • Perform validation processes on orders within the shipping department.   • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent years of experience to exhibit the knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of any of these requirements.
  • While lifting boxes bend, twist, and turn while placing them into their appropriate place.
  • Pick and Pack Parts including All Picking tasks.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
  • Required to regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Asks questions.
  • Proficient ability to read, write and communicate in English Travel: No travel is expected for this position. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. *
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to use power hand tools weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using WMS system and RF scanner.
  • Load and unload trucks.

  • Perform cycle counts and perform basic inventory functions.
  • Able to be on their feet for at least 8 hours a day.
  • Continuously reach out to sort miscellaneous items.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, clean, and safe work area which may include, but is not limited to sweeping, dusting trash disposal, and all other sanitation duties as assigned.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Coordinate the movement of the body, arms, and legs,s while walking down aisles and carrying boxes of supplies.
  • Cycle count experience
  • Must have the ability to manage time to complete all assigned work.
  • Ability to show proficiency in using Electric Walkie Riders, Forklifts, and Stock Chasers.
  • Manifest and use TMS System.
  • Able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Perform Desktop functions in the WMS systems.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • Ability to use and knowledge of Desktop WMS programs such as Carton Split and Makita Overpack Operations.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
  • Be able to push, lift, and carry 30-50 pounds of merchandise and fixtures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties in all areas of the warehouse.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, security, and customer compliance procedures.
  • Perform all job functions in the shipping and receiving area.
