Job Description
Job Summary: As a Material Handler, you perform a wide range of basic duties to help maintain warehouse stock and assist in fulfilling orders in a fast-paced work environment. All responsibilities must be carried out safely to provide customer satisfaction to our internal and external customers, as consistent with Makita's company values. The role will focus on satisfying internal and external customers as efficiently as possible with a goal of 100% performance. Pay: $20.00 per hr.   • Pick and Pack Parts.
  • Coordinate the movement of the body, arms, and legs while walking down aisles and carrying boxes of supplies.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, security, and customer compliance procedures.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • While lifting boxes bend, twist, and turn while placing them into their appropriate place.
  • Time Management Skills: Must have the ability to manage time to complete all assigned work.
  • Required to regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • Perform cycle counts and perform basic inventory functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
  • Should be flexible to assist in multiple areas of the warehouse based on business demand.   • Able to be on their feet for at least 8 hours a day.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using WMS system and RF scanner.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Ability to show proficiency in using Electric Walkie Riders and Stock Chasers.
  • Be able to push, lift, and carry 30-50 pounds of merchandise and fixtures.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changes in workload requirements.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, clean, and safe work area which may include, but is not limited to sweeping, dusting trash disposal, and all other sanitation duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is sometimes hot or cold, and subject to occasional load noises and/or hazardous conditions.   • Perform Desktop functions in the WMS systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties in all areas of the warehouse.
  • Ability to use and show knowledge of Desktop RP programs such as Carton Split and Makita Overpack Operations. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers. Travel: No travel is expected for this position. Education and/or Experience Desired:
  • Continuously reach out to sort miscellaneous items.
  • Able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Ability to use power hand tools weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent years of experience to exhibit the knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of any of these requirements.
