Master's Level Counselors (Substance Abuse -Field Based)

Position Summary: We are seeking caring, compassionate, mission driven Counselors to provide therapy to adults and children who are active clients of the dependency system. Work involves the application of psychotherapeutic theories and practices. Provides in-home therapy and other services, including substance abuse, to assist the families in retaining their children in the home or to effect successful reunification. Directions for Living is an essential services provider. A ll Directions for Living employees must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation. Essential employees may be required to work in the field, be "on call" depending on the needs of the individual being served. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field required Must have sufficient clinical knowledge to provide clinical intervention with adults and children who manifest a range of psychopathology, utilizing various treatment approaches including individual, family, play, and group therapy, individual psychopathology and normal childhood development. Have sufficient clinical knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused- CBT and other evidence based treatments. Must acquire knowledge of community resources.
