We’re actively seeking a talented Marketing Relationship Manager (Life insurance focus) to join our Marketing Strategy Team in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Lynchburg, VA (hybrid work schedule).


As a Marketing Relationship Manager, you will fill an existing role on the Marketing Strategy Team as part of Pacific Life’s Consumer Markets Division (CMD). You will play a key role in the division’s growth and long-term success by developing the strategy and implementing marketing campaigns that support our key Life distribution relationships. Additionally, you will be the main point of contact within marketing for our Strategic Partnerships and Sales teams.


The role will focus on partnering with our key accounts and sales teams to understand our top relationships so that we can provide targeted messaging, product positioning and education tailored to the Broad Market Channel, helping us to grow the relationship and achieve sales goals. Your colleagues will include Product Marketing Strategists, Relationship Managers, Value-Add Marketers, and fellow Marketing professionals. You will be partnering with many functional areas within the Consumer Markets Division to ensure the successful delivery of the marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives.


This position is the point-person on marketing initiatives that is expected to use their market knowledge to understand the vision, define goals, develop communication plans, and execute on marketing strategies. This includes developing and maintaining a marketing roadmap tailored to specific needs of a distribution channel.


How You Will Make An Impact


  • Communicate with all stakeholders and make sure goals are clear and the vision is aligned with business objectives.
  • Travel periodically with recruiters and sales management.
  • Evaluate and communicate progress and performance of marketing initiatives. Work with digital marketing and other departments to gather and share applicable data.
  • Provide scope and help to consolidate background information on marketing resource requests, especially when driven by internal accounts or sales distribution channels.
  • Lead the communication of campaign progress to leadership as well as the performance during and after campaign conclusion.
  • Develop marketing strategies, help align resources, and execute marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain a positive and flexible attitude while juggling changes in scope, budget, and timeframe as marketing initiatives re often time dependent.
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
  • Create and maintain marketing's backlog items and prioritize these items based on the overall strategy and business objectives.
  • Use account knowledge and strong communication skills to anticipate problems or address account needs.
  • Help drive sales in assigned channels through consultative direction conducted through collaborate discussions with internal and external sales and marketing contacts.


The Experience You Will Bring


  • Ability to build relationships, influence people and motivate teams
  • Understands how to use data and analytics to make decisions
  • Able to work in a team or independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • 5+ years marketing experience in Life Insurance and related products. Experience with Term Insurance and Brokerage General Agencies a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with marketing technologies, such as CRM software (Salesforce preferred), sales enablement tools, marketing automation platform (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred), social media management, and analytics platforms
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across functional areas
  • Experience developing integrated strategic marketing plans focused on creating awareness, engagement and demand with clients

Base Pay Range


The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.


$93,600.00 - $117,000.00 - $158,000.00
