Job Description

In this new role, you will be responsible for commercial demand planning of specific product groupings in conjunction with the S&OP process, ensuring company strategy is encompassed in a usable demand plan. Interaction and cooperation with Marketing, including Product Management, Domestic and International Sales and Operations teams, S&OP will be vital to success in this role. As the Marketing Product Line (demand) Planner, you are key to ensuring forecast accuracy and long-term forecasting up to 24 months.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee demand planning and management processes for new and existing products.
  • Global project engagement with Regional Sales and Operations teams.
  • Schedule monthly forecast meetings with all internal customers as required.
  • Involved in significant material New Product Development (NPD) for assigned product groups.
  • Develop demand forecasts based on demand patterns, business trends, and market intelligence.
  • Liaison for demand planning related projects and business development.
  • Works closely with local or regional Supply Chain counterparts as required to ensure forecasts are executed upon and provide market inputs where needed.
  • Assist in forecasting cost reduction projects and implementation of new product/engineering changes.
  • Maintains and reviews Forecast vs. Actual usage for assigned products.
  • Work with sales team and product management to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain teams to effectively manage demand planning during product phase in/phase out.
  • Utilize analytical, marketing, sales and purchasing knowledge to effectively plan future increases or decreases of product demands.
  • Achieve department performance forecasting goals
  • Participate in continuous improvement workshops (kaizens) with team members to improve quality, delivery, and productivity that may impact long term forecasting with
  • Contributes, in the capacity of team member, individually, or as reference, to resolving forecasting challenges.
  • Direct involvement in S&OP process and converting S&OP topics into usable demand plan.
  • Identify areas of improvements and recommend action plans.
  • Responsible for collecting all additional demand forecasts for assigned product lines and communicating the Operations.
Background and Skill
  • Minimum of 5 years forecasting / demand planning experience
  • Proficient as the use of MS office applications including Word, Excel, Access and Power BI
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Finance or Supply Chain
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver results through others, ability to work without close supervision, and obtains
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods

  • Technically capable of grasping new concepts quickly
  • Functions effectively as a team member in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Self motivated and a high achiever

The base compensation range for this position is $94,000 to $118,000 per year. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon a number of factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
