We are searching for a Marketing Analyst to join this amazing team. This position requires strong analytical skills, working with data to support the team in formulating insights across a variety of data sources. It is responsible for helping Boston Proper understand our customers' shopping patterns and behaviors and the impact of our marketing spend. The Marketing Analyst will utilize the data from our email, SMS, and clientele database to help the team draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations to improve our customer value, sales and profitability goals. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with problem-solving skills and experience leveraging marketing tools to drive action. The candidate should be able to filter and communicate information clearly in person and in writing to leader and business partners, share point of view to ensure that analytics and insights are embedded in decision making across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze data sets from a variety of sources to identify trends, draw understandings, and develop recommendations that deliver actionable insights that drive business growth.
- Act as a champion for data-based decisions, proactively socializing data to inform business decisions.
- Support team in finding forward-looking insights to identify opportunities and risks to the business.
- Provide and share regularly ad hoc analysis, competitive information, presentations, status reports and meeting recaps when necessary.
- Work closely with our Customer Experience leadership team and third-party Workforce Management Team on all aspects of forecasting, resource planning and the optimization of scheduling and capacity planning for the company Contact Center.
- Work tactically with a small marketing team to track campaigns targeted to purposefully steer customer behavior, resulting in increased customer loyalty, retention and overall profitability.
- Work with leader to prioritize and scope ad hoc analyses from a variety of data sources to support the cross functional teams to better understand product trends by client segment and the role of each product category in the client journeys, and identify growth opportunities (cross-sell, up-sell, portfolio gaps etc.)
- Track and report customer segment performance and established KPIs.
- Participate in the advancement of targeting techniques and strategies to strengthen relationships with our customers. Actively contribute to marketing discussions to support hypothesis testing including test design, implementation and analysis.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with internal marketing, production, email, digital, IT, customer service partners.
Experience/Requirements:
- 3+ years direct marketing or consulting experience in a retail environment required; apparel and CRM experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree required; Marketing or related field preferred;
- Ability to thrive in fail fast, learn quickly and juggle multiple projects simultaneously environment
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, R2, SPSS, SAS, etc) and Python preferred
- Knowledge of Listrak, Yotpo, Attentive or similar platforms
- Self-motivated and able to operate independently, as well as work effectively with others
- Possess curiosity about the business and customer
- Experience in Google Analytics, Shopify, Advanced Excel, SQL, PowerPoint, Word required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build relationships across functions and levels to drive results
