Batesville is looking for a Market Intelligence Associate to join our team. This is a remote position. As a Market Intelligence Associate you will work closely with the Market Intelligence Manager to support the marketing and sales organizations with data-based insights. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a retail analytics platform that will be used to collect, store, and analyze data from all aspects of the Funeral Home business. This role will be critical in helping Batesville understand its funeral home customers, along with providing our sales team with a tool that they can use to identify new opportunities for growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing in the development of standardized metrics and reporting tools.
  • Perform analysis of data from a variety of sources to develop industry analyses. Some potential data sources include market research data (both primary and secondary), financial data, industry trends.
  • Create top-line and draft reports and presentations, providing actionable recommendations and findings.
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research projects from ideation to analysis.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and challenges both at the local funeral home level and larger geographical regions.
  • Work with a third-party data aggregator and internal data sources to develop and maintain databases of key customer and market information.
  • Create professional deliverables in response to multiple requests from a variety of departments.


Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years related business analytics experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in data analytics.
  • Excel and PowerPoint expertise is required.
  • Intermediate analytical skills with experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information with accuracy are required.
  • Must be comfortable working with Outlook and Word.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Business, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, or related.


Great to Haves:

  • Familiarity with a B2B sales environment is a plus.
  • Experience working with data aggregators / warehouses is preferred.
  • SQL, or other database language familiarity is a plus.
  • Sales data analysis and/or analytics experience is preferred.
  • Market research, VOC, or CX experience is a plus.


Travel:

Employee must be able to travel 5% of the time.
