Purpose & Scope

The Kapton® team is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Supervisor at the Circleville, Ohio facility—30 miles south of Columbus, Ohio. This role will work with a diverse team to improve our competitive advantage for the manufacturing of Kapton® Polyimide Films. The Kapton® facilities consist of polymer manufacturing, solvent distillation and extraction, film casting, and numerous converting operations such as coating, heat treatment, and slitting. The Circleville site also manufactures Tedlar® film, Teflon® film and Vespel® resin, and a wide variety of on-site engineering disciplines such as R&D and project engineering, in addition to the 35+ engineers in the Kapton® Manufacturing Technology department.

The Circleville site is a short drive from Columbus, OH, a growing city that is currently the 14th largest in the nation. This proximity to Columbus allows either urban or rural living, great for families and single living. The area offers many museums and arts-scene experiences, professional and collegiate sports, and has several highly ranked golf courses and state/metro parks for the outdoor enthusiast. The Circleville site is one of three primary manufacturing locations that produce Kapton®, part of the Interconnect Solutions business unit within DuPont. This business unit is part of DuPont’s Electronics and Industrial Platform. Electronics and Industrial is comprised of a number of high growth global businesses supplying a broad array of materials to multiple consumer electronics and industrial sectors. Dupont recently invested over $250MM to build a new Kapton® manufacturing asset at the Circleville site, as well.

Your key responsibilities:

This position manages the objectives and performance of team members in the Kapton® Manufacturing Technology (MT) organization. This group of multi-disciplined engineers delivers the technology and process capability needed to safely operate, maintain and improve the manufacturing operations. This position will be aligning applicable site programs and activities with business strategy and providing critical manufacturing and quality improvements necessary to compete in these high-growth, fast-paced markets.

The role will drive Process Safety Management programs and systems to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. This position works closely with business and site manufacturing teams to define improvement goals (safety, asset productivity and quality), and actively leads the technical resources to meet these objectives. This individual is responsible for the professional development of technical resources and their capabilities to improve effectiveness, as well as interfacing with key business leaders to resolve issues and reconcile priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years previous manufacturing experience
• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering or science field
• Demonstrated leadership skills supervising a team

• Experience with Process Safety Management
• Understanding of Six Sigma methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Six Sigma Green or Black belt certified
• Prior experience in manufacturing technology support
