Job Description
The Manufacturing Supervisor is a team leader working with a team to ensure the overall success of the shift/operations which includes safety, delivery, quality, throughput, costs, and cycle time. The Manufacturing Supervisor, in conjunction with the Leads on their shift, help to orchestrate success overall for the shift and to positively impact business metrics and sustain profitability. Success in this position depends heavily on leadership, communication, and teamwork.

What You’ll Do


  • Investigate quality issues to establish root cause and review Corrective Action Effectiveness.
  • Manage documentation and summarize data on a control chart and graph/results.
  • Respond to production problems and troubleshoot to initiate short- and long-term countermeasures.
  • Use Lean production concepts to support production to meet production time standards.
  • Document/facilitate reviews to direct reports including operators, leads and managers as requested.
  • Coordinate daily activities, including preventative maintenance activities and business unit operations.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Complete continued training on Lean management philosophy, problem solving techniques, leadership skills, team building, or other areas that will foster efficiency improvements and accountability.
  • Document/complete continuous improvement projects to reduce rework and improve process lead time
  • Provide effective supervision within the company policies to obtain efficient, uninterrupted operations.
  • Execute the priorities and direction from the business unit managers to ensure uninterrupted production


Requirements


What you’ll need:


  • Ability to return to working on a task amidst frequent outside distractions or obstacles
  • Ability to use metric and standard measuring systems and understand X-Y-Z coordinates.
  • Monitor performance of self, others, or organization for continuous improvements or corrective action
  • Know requirements for recruitment, selection, training, labor relations, and personnel information systems
  • Synchronize the efforts of a diverse group of people or departments and participate as an active member
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Strong attention to detail and a desire and willingness to lead others
  • Knowledge of common manufacturing processes, software programs (Microsoft), equipment operation
  • Openness to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace
  • High expectations for work outcomes. Only accepts excellence from self and others


Education and/or Experience


  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and/or AS9100.
  • Associates Degree in Electronic or Mechanical engineering
  • Working knowledge of IPC-610, J-STD, IPC 7711/7721, IPC-A-600, ANSI/ESD S20.20 standards.
  • Experience with NPI processes in electronics manufacturing services environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the electronic manufacturing industry.
  • Electromechanical skills.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations


  • Component ID training or IPC or equivalent training/certification highly encouraged.
