Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Planner provides planning parameters values needed for rough cut and detailed capacity planning, including lead times, yields, success rates, run rates and shop calendars to ensure planners have the correct planning assumptions for production planning and scheduling.

Level loads the factory production schedule to allow the most efficient use of manpower and equipment while maintaining on time delivery to the customers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following; however, other duties may apply.)

  • Revisit and revise plan (if necessary) to incorporate changes either internally or externally driven (eg, changes in customer prioritizes)
  • Supporting and generating weekly and monthly performance reports measuring the actual production schedule against the plan
  • Supervise and report actual factory results against the Master Production Schedule.
  • Establish planning calendar to assure standard updates to Master Production schedules every month.
  • Collect, analyze and make recommendations based upon interpretation of data
  • Schedule manufacturing operations from production major assemblies through sub-assemblies and detail parts and make recommendations to the operations Manager
  • Participate in the budgeting process, financial reporting process and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Monitor and analyze weekly measures and trouble shoot inaccuracies between the System and Production schedules
  • Coordinate plus lead production meetings to communicate the factory production plan
  • Establish the master plan and weekly production plan for the company by converting demand (forecast, customer orders, customer schedules, commercialization timeline etc) into a feasible production plan to ensure matched sets of materials and capacities are available to meet the needs of customers in a cost-effective and production efficient manner
  • Act as the link from supply chain to stakeholders in manufacturing, project management, finance, quality, process science, regulatory and the market in order to meet established business goals
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, regulatory and sales and operations planning to resolve bottlenecks in supply
  • Develop daily production schedule for the factory production schedule
  • Use ERP system to load the agreed manufacturing schedules into the system
  • Participates in planning projects that impact plant capacities
  • Develop , execute and maintain tools as well as techniques required to evaluate impact of proposed schedule changes
  • Participates in project planning meetings that range from routine to moderately difficult
  • Work with purchasing buyers to manage inventory to maintain appropriate inventory levels and coordinating the availability of raw materials on a timely basis for the production process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field
  • Must be able to demonstrate/possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Profound knowledge of MS Office, ERP systems
  • Experience with XA ERP system a plus
  • Ensure best practice methods are established and utilized through the use of documented Standard Work
