Job Description
Inside the Role
Supervise skilled trade employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Role Priorities; Safety, Employee Relations, Quality, Productivity, Cost Improvement; and Performance Measurement.

Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500.00 - $126,000.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA:
  • Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to OU Manager.
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Performs accident investigations.
  • Manages Defeats Per Unit (DPU) / Hours Per Unit (HPU).
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Plan and organize small scale and large-scale maintenance activities, projects, repairs, associate training, and safety improvements.
  • Understand Lean concepts and supports implementation of Truck Operation Systems Plus (TOS+) initiatives.
  • Order parts as needed for repairs and maintain adequate spare parts inventory. Coordinate maintenance activities based on Company needs including; answering calls for assistance, prioritizing work schedules, prioritizing and assigning work orders. Schedule preventative maintenance and ensure equipment records are maintained and work performed.
  • Assign, check, and continuously monitor the workmanship, efficiency, and quality of work performed by department personnel. Insure all employees are oriented and properly trained to perform their jobs and safety procedures including lock out/tag out, fall protection, etc. are followed.
Knowledge You Should Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience OR 8 years of relevant maintenance experience in lieu of degree
  • Working knowledge of maintenance procedures to include troubleshooting, repairing, and preventative maintenance
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional Candidates Might Have:
  • Leadership experience: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Good technical/mechanical understanding
  • Knowledge of Ladder logics or programming and PLC’s preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards to include: ARC Flash, PPE, and Combined Space entry
  • Planning experience: an ability to think ahead, plan over a 30-day time span, and prepare action plans to achieve results
  • Kaizen training and work environments
  • Experience in a Union environment
  • INFOR system knowledge
  • An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
