Manufacturing Engineer Jobs

Performs a variety of engineering work in planning and design of products, tools, machines and other mechanically functioning equipment and mechanical industrial processes; oversees production, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment. Optimizes workflow and output through the facility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
• Research and analyzes data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate production process and evaluate potential changes
• May use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D Modeling Software for design data processing and for developing alternative designs.
• Direct and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
• May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• May specialize in specific field of mechanical engineering, hydraulics, electromechanical, controls and instrumentation, robotics, tooling or in type of product, such as or machinery and mechanical equipment; or in type of work, such as plant engineering, or system planning.
• Identify and recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities
• Create and maintain work instructions and manufacturing specifications
• Activities may involve but are not limited to electric generators, machine tools, material handling systems, industrial production equipment, and robots used in manufacturing, etc.
• Oversees and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
• Plan and oversee engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
• May design products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
• Design products or systems, such as instruments, controls, robots, machines, and mechanical, hydraulic, applying knowledge of engineering principles.

Qualifications

• 3 years' of engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S
