Role Summary:

The Manager, Workplace Facilities Maintenance will be responsible for maintaining all building infrastructure systems, preventative repair and maintenance strategy, and leading the maintenance team for office and lab facilities in North America. In true start up fashion, some of these programs do not exist or have opportunity for refinement as the company scales. Rivian is looking for an experienced individual, who is a self-started, collaborative, highly organized, and communicative leader to champion these programs and lead a dynamic team to execute them.

Responsibilities:

  • Refine, scale, and lead proactive maintenance program
  • Respond to facility operation emergencies such as power outages, pipe bursts, thermal events, etc.
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance teams or multiple facilities
  • Partner with the Environmental Health and Safety team to ensure facilities are code compliant
  • Establish relationships with end user leaders and have a deep understanding of their equipment and systems in order to provide an excellent workplace experience
  • Manage day to day building maintenance tasks and team
  • Interview, hire and train supervisors and technicians to provide onsite support
  • Use data analysis and end user feedback to help prepare and prevent future issues
  • Onboard and maintain robust vendor relationships
  • Prepare and present monthly comprehensive and data driven maintenance reports to Facilities leadership
  • Create, forecast, and manage budgets
  • Develop strategy and implement preventative and corrective maintenance and inspection programs

Qualifications:

  • Self-starter who is goal oriented, highly motivated and excels in a fast-paced environment
  • 10+ years of facility maintenance experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • 5+ people management experience across multiple geos
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25%
  • Proven superior attention to detail

Salary Range

  • Salary range for Irvine, CA based applicants: $135,000 - $155,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law)
