Position Title: Manager, Sustainability and Environmental Social Governance (LSC, DCA, MCO) _____________________________________________________________________________________________


Position Summary


The Manager, Sustainability and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) will focus on maintaining, developing and executing a variety of sustainability and ESG programs across JetBlue. This role is intended to focus on environmental programs and will help lead the execution of multiple decarbonization efforts across JetBlue. This includes the sourcing of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), electrification of airport ground vehicles, aircraft fuel efficiency programs, and road mapping and tracking toward the airline’s multiple emissions targets.


Essential Responsibilities
  • Help execute and prepare materials for internal Sustainability Task Force and Board of Directors ESG Subcommittee meetings
  • Program growth and management
  • Sustainability data tracking
  • Support and engage in multiple industry collaborations and workgroups driving sustainability efforts forward
  • Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) procurement
  • Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support the engagement, growth, goal achievement by establishing clear performance expectations and accountability for Crewmembers
  • Partnership with JetBlue Ventures in identifying and furthering emerging sustainable travel technologies
  • Support roll-out of electric ground support equipment (GSE) and aircraft fuel efficiency initiatives
  • Regular data collection and external reporting for emissions performance and SAF deliveries
  • Execution of annual CORSIA reporting and audit process
  • Consistently promote sustainability work internally and externally in cooperation with communications department that convey strategic objectives to various audiences.
  • Execution of annual emissions inventory, verification, and publication
  • Engagement with corporate customers for SAF partnerships
  • Upkeep roadmap and technical plan to reach goals including 2030 SAF target, 2035 science based target and 2040 net zero goal
  • Internal engagement and external partnerships
  • Distill key strategic themes, ideas, and opportunities into tangible executable initiatives
  • Other sustainable operations
  • Support with programs related to carbon credit retirement and CORSIA compliance preparation
  • Ensure regular delivery and tracking associated with existing SAF supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Review future opportunities for SAF growth
  • Work collaboratively across the organization with departments including Fuel and Operations; Investor Relations; Corporate Communications; Marketing; Ops Analysis; Network Planning; Government Affairs; Finance; Sourcing; Corporate Sales; Loyalty; Treasury; Facilities; Properties; IT; Senior Leadership and more to identify and define the most essential strategic priorities related to sustainability and ESG


Minimum Experience And Qualifications


  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Experience in developing business cases and high level program implementation plans including milestones and progress measurement
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow complex instructions
  • Strong problem identification and solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field; OR a demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of relevant work experience
  • Organized, detail oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Five (5) years of related experience in sustainability and/or aviation
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking, including financial analysis / modeling to assess strategic options, and developing creative solutions to complex problems
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located


Preferred Experience And Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in any related field
  • Possible future management of Crewmembers


Crewmember Expectations:


  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

Compensation:


  • The base pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $136,200.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
