Summary

The Manager QA for the market leading Ryder E-commerce by Whiplash platform and applications provides leadership and expertise associated with the quality program supporting delivery of warehouse management and e-commerce experiences for Ryder’s e-commerce operations, customers, and end users. With a focus on exceptional operations and user experience the incumbent will leverage a data driven mentality to establish a quality program that prioritizes transparency, beauty, and developing software products that are a joy to maintain, use, and support. This position will ensure that all pre-production code meets well-defined standards before going into production. The Manager QA will work closely with the frontend and backend dev teams and will lead QA engineers in manual, automated, and performance testing. They will guide the QA team on industry best practices, work to increase automated test coverage, and help expand our growing QA team. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected to be provided to the individual who joins our team.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with teams to accelerate innovation across multiple swimlanes (product, experience, platform and API, data, etc.) with a continuous learning and growth mindset
  • Lead QA team in writing, maintaining, and executing automated, integration, and performance testing development and execution
  • Partner with teams to accelerate time to value through minimizing manual regression testing, maximizing impact of automation as part of CI/CD, and targeting the right tests at the right time
  • Staff, coordinate, and manage QA initiatives, teams, and team members
  • Inform strategies and priorities with data, focus on metrics, and a continuous improvement approach
  • Develop and adapt a cohesive quality vision and strategy focused on exceptional user experience and SaaS platform performance and reliability
  • Foster an environment focused on rapid, data driven experimentation and deliver improvements to UX and business outcomes
  • Collaborate with development and architecture teams to improve our ability to test with representative data in representative environments
  • Define a holistic quality program and roadmap focused on clear business metrics and targets
  • Lead the quality team in an Agile environment spanning multiple initiatives and solutions

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Working knowledge of multitenant SaaS technology delivery and architecture including web, backend, and API frameworks
  • Demonstrated skills in organizational group and change management processes, problem identification, continuous improvement, and resolution at both strategic and functional levels
  • Experience leading quality teams focused on SaaS delivery of e-commerce, logistics, and operations solutions in an Agile environment
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills delivered with an empathetic and service leadership-oriented mindset
  • Experience interacting with multi-functional teams with members from the Executive down to user levels
  • Familiarity with testing in the cloud at high volume and with high throughput and SLA requirements
  • Highly skilled in functional and performance automation process, tools, and frameworks
  • Tools: Direct experience in Postman, Cypress.io, JMeter, BrowserStack, Capybara, Selenium, Webservices/API automation, SQL, Github Actions
  • Strong ability with Agile, Git(hub) Flow, CI/CD, and other SDLC approaches
  • Demonstrable skill in analyzing and leveraging data in informing and making strategic and tactical roadmap recommendations
  • Ability to develop strategic plans aligned with clear objectives in collaboration with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrable skill in scripting and test framework creation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required Computer Science, Engineering or Technology or equivalent experience
  • Seven (7) years or more quality assurance testing experience
  • Five (5) years or more functional automation experience
  • Two (2) years or more performance testing experience

data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or

certifications, etc.

The salary for this position ranges from $130,000.00 to $150,000.00. Employees may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, as applicable.
