ROLE TITLE Manager, Operations & Community Impact
POSITION REPORTS TO: Courtney Guenard, VP, Program

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Teach For America - Nevada seeks a Manager, Operations & Community Impact who is charged with supporting our 2030 goal in the areas of operations, maintaining systems, and cross-functional projects. You are organized and a natural self-starter, and you work with a strong orientation to culture, systems-level thinking, team management, and functional operations. An obsession to detail, the ability to anticipate problems, orientation to community impact, and a collaborative work ethic are critical to this role.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Team Operations & Finances (30%)
  • Serve as a buying and finance point person for the regional team, managing our team credit card and expense reports. Manage expenses for the team card to ensure compliance.
  • Serve as our office manager, ensuring all office operations run smoothly (paying rent, leading the team in ensuring everyone is keeping the office tidy, booking spaces for external partners, getting the mail, etc.)
  • Serve as our admissions point of contact, ensuring the team completes all selection commitments.
  • Create and manage an internal information Hub (website) aligned with national support structures.
  • Potential Workstreams: team budget management and fiscal stewardship captain for team.
  • Manage operational/system wide compliance for the region including timesheet and technology compliance.
  • Lead regional operations as needed - including but not limited to corps member and alumni event operations, network event operations, ordering food for meetings/events, etc.
  • Develop and manage a regional dashboard which reflects progress-to-goal across every functional area, and can be used to flag trends, risks, challenges, and successes for the broader regional team.
  • Create a plan and process for information to be transitioned and distributed equitability. This may look like a centralized knowledge hub with focus on knowledge transitions.
Community Experiences (30%)
  • Partner with MD, Alumni & Community Impact and MD, Leadership Development who leads our community work to plan and execute on strategies to support our participants (incoming corps members, corps members, and alumni) to become more rooted in our community.
Incoming Corps Member Onboarding & Recruitment Support (20%)
  • Manage NV ConnectED/coordinating fingerprinting for CMs locally (& any additional local programming for ICMs).
  • Stay up-to-date on state licensure policies and advise CMs about state licensing actions & deadlines (i.e. deciding on timeline, conveying clarity around how to apply & when, fingerprinting etc.)
  • Support our local recruitment efforts and vision by doing things like: attend career fairs, hold 1:1 prospect phone calls, and support operations to increase our recruitment efforts.
  • Work with school partners (CCSD, WCSD, and charters), UNLV, and NVDOE to ensure 100% of corps members are hired.
  • Partner with MD, Matriculation Generalist and MD, Leadership Development coaches to support our corps members in a strong onboarding process and getting 100% licensed and hired.
  • Foster University partnerships & relationships, including gathering information from them about who has and has not applied by deadlines/is on track and relaying to MD, Matric + coaches.
  • Help to steward our Early Deadline Admits to ground them in the community.
Maintain agile working habits that allow for the emergent needs at Teach For America (20%)
  • Participate in things such as corps member selection, community interviews, and other key strategic priorities as needed.
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the Manager, Operations & Community Impact will spend time: doing the behind-the-scenes work of coordinating event operations, problem-solving to ensure the team has what they need to thrive, and working collaboratively to ensure our participants are more grounded in the community. They will have an orientation towards community and build partnerships with key stakeholders to support our incoming corps members, current corps members, and alumni work and be nimble in adjusting priorities based on team needs.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
  • 2 years of related experience to operational work
  • Demonstrated results in vision setting and/or project planning for programmatic events
  • Strong ability to motivate and influence people and teams, and coach and develop others
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit to innovate and create scope/sequence of learning
  • Seek and welcome ways to expand your impact, based on critical reflection and feedback
  • Exceptional ability to organize, plan, and execute project tasks without supervision
  • Strong aptitude in cultivating internal and external relationships while laterally managing them toward outcomes

YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role is $55,700-$83,500. This range may be modified in the future.
