Job Description

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the new hire experience, ensuring new hires go through a standard orientation program as well as receive training to Company standards. Position will partner with business unit operations and human resources management to understand business objectives and to manage, support, develop and execute the onboarding and training of front-line employees as well as provide standard front-line leadership training to all operational management in the business unit. Manages and maintains employee training records, requirements, and reports. Reports to Director, Business Unit Human Resources directly and to Sr Manager, Professional Development dotted/functional line.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements action plans to continuously improve employee engagement and retention
  • Manages the area’s talent roundtable discussions, identifying appropriate succession plans and high potential employees
  • Supports employee development and retention by delivering and managing established programs
  • Manages Specialists who support new hires
  • Tracks training completion and maintains employee information in the online learning management system (LMS)
  • Oversees the delivery of (and able to conduct as needed) new hire orientation training to new hires
  • Maintains the unit’s training calendar and curriculum, coordinating course logistics and enrollment
  • Develops and circulates detailed reports to management regarding compliance and training progress and effectiveness
  • Designs, delivers and administers select operations training initiatives for union-represented/front-line employees in the unit including but not limited to training and assessment of Leads who are responsible for conducting on-the-job training for front line employees
  • Ensure exit interviews are completed using company standard tools
  • Reports results of exit interviews to Director, Human Resources, Business Unit and Business Unit Leader
  • Monitors, analyze, and evaluate training activities and program effectiveness.
  • Develops and deliver training specific to unit needs as necessary.
  • Acts as point of contact to employees regarding training inquiries or concerns
  • Monitors 0 – 90-day retention and develop needs for training and report out to unit leadership for implementation.
  • Uses mobile data collector(s) to conduct new hire evaluation reporting.
  • Delivers professional curriculum to improve effectiveness of management
  • Assess and analyzes training needs though surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, and/or consultation with managers, instructors and others
  • Coordinates and drives the periodic performance management processes
Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university is preferred
Work Experience:
  • 1 to 4 years of training experience in a retail, management, food hospitality, catering, or training environment or equivalent work experience in operations management or a related field
