Summary

The Manager of Data Analytics is responsible for data tools and services at Perdue. Our ideal candidate will work closely with business, data science, and technical teams to ensure data movement and management within the Enterprise Analytics Platform is completed to the highest standards and proficiency.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure security standards are applied to the platform and meet Perdue policy.
  • Lead the design of raw data structures, building data systems and pipelines to prepare data for analytic needs
  • Ensure data is refreshed and monitored on an ongoing basis
  • Implement new technologies and tooling to further enable science and analytics, as well as help drive scalable data sharing practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and architecture of the Enterprise Analytics Platform
  • Implement standards for monitoring data pipelines
  • Architect the solutions to move raw information from different sources to promote building of algorithms and prototypes for analysis and reporting
  • Integrate existing operational data assets with new technologies, and oversee the development of new processes that support teams across organization to make data driven decisions.
  • Ensure hardware is architected and provisioned based on usage forecast and budget
  • Track the performance of solutions and related capabilities, constantly evolving our offering in order to scale our capability set with the growth of the business and needs of our customers.
  • Maintain as roadmap to extend Enterprise Analytics Platform
  • Based on business usage implement ways to enhance data acquisition, quality, and reliability

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technology solutions to senior leadership, gain alignment, and drive progress
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, Snowflake, Dataiku etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or Data Analytic with 10+ yrs of experience, a Master’s is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data platforms and functions supporting Analytics
  • Great numerical and analytical skills
  • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
