WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The Manager Clinical Informatics, through leadership and interdepartmental teamwork, will ensure focus and accountability for achieving departmental results. This position is responsible for user satisfaction with the group's products and for all employee productivity, staffing, development, and retention within the assigned group. This position provides overall direction and guidance to employees within the department. The Manager Clinical Informatics will provide leadership on customer support strategies and will resolve escalated client issues for the department. This position will plan and manage both human and financial resources within the domain.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Application Integration Partners with IS Directors, Peer Management, and Business Partners to maintain trusted relationships and ensure efficient completion of organizational objectives.
- Informatics Recommendations Leads the process of exploring emerging roles, technologies and models of nursing informatics practice, translates global and national initiatives into products, strategy and patient care direction. Provides clinical leadership and collaboration on technology integration and upgrade projects.
- Performance Metrics Establishes and maintains performance metrics for management of the business area.
- Project Coordination Partners with Clinical Operations, Informatics Leadership and IT Leaders to complete budgets, information services requests, and business case justifications to support clinical system enhancements, implementations, and upgrades.
- Project Coordination Assumes a leadership role in identifying and coordinating change efforts, including communication, change readiness assessment, gap analysis, education, workflows and policy and procedural changes.
- Project Coordination Participate in facility and corporate committees and/or projects as clinical informatics expert.
- Project Management Manages project activities, resources, and information in support of the Informatics program.
- Budget and Policies Develops, implements and manages policies and a budget, ensuring cost control and expenses are in alignment with the budget.
- Performance Management Supervises direct reports and manages the performance of individuals through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to motivate, engage and drive a high performing team.
- People Management Activities Makes decisions for direct reports and performs people management activities such as performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff planning, and interviews.
- Project Coordination Assists the CMIO and Administrative Director in developing strong partnerships between clinicians, facility leadership, EHR Governance Committees, various clinical committees/workgroups and Information Services.
- Department Objectives Establishes department objectives by analyzing business plan and collaborating with Business Partners and IS Leadership.
- Strategy Alignment Ensures the department is aligned with strategies for all the assigned areas of the business.
Qualifications
- 1 year Managerial Preferred
- 5 years Nursing/Patient Care Required
- Preferred Master's Degree
- 2 years Informatics Required
