Job Description
Your Opportunity as the Manager, Logistics
Location: New Orleans, LA
Work arrangements: full time onsite
In this role you will:
  • Uncover production capabilities, operating strategies and daily challenges and their impact on production scheduling and procurement.
  • Master existing planning technology, and support future improvements and upgrades.
  • Oversee raw material ordering, receiving, and invoice reconciliation, line delivery, and finished goods storage, product shipments and days of supply.
  • Support and advocate compliance of Food Safety Programs, Quality, and regulatory requirements and address unsafe working conditions with actionable solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between plant leadership and corporate supply chain leaders, Customer Service, Marketing, Purchasing, Transportation, co-packers, and suppliers.
  • Own and maintain the site Business Continuity Plan.
  • Manage Supply Chain operation strategies leveraging lean methodologies.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction and work process improvements to support site savings and working capital reduction initiatives.
  • Identify root cause & countermeasures for any gaps in results.
  • Lead high performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions and become self-reliant.
  • Oversee training and qualification programs for designated department; participates in assessments, ensures effective training and maintains consistent qualification standards.
  • Build capability of department in the areas of interpersonal, technical and business skills through consistent feedback.
  • Support and champion site vision as a member of the site leadership team.
  • Provide strategic direction for physical inventory management, including: inventory accuracy, cycle counts, product rotation, variances, fill rates, delivery rates, and ensuring segregation of duties, etc.
  • Lead Logistics Department to execute processes to deliver plant financial goals, inventory objectives, customer service levels and department master plan.
  • Manage Site Level Execution Agreements with suppliers as needed.
  • Responsible for career development and performance management of direct reports, which includes salaried and hourly employees.
  • Develop and execute a supply chain vision for the site that delivers operational excellence, resulting in world class customer service efficiency.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Strong problem solving, and root-cause identification skills
  • Experience using Supply Planning Systems (Ex: PPS, Oracle, Discover)
  • 2+ years’ experience in leading, supervising, or directly managing others
  • Ability to make proactive decisions related to strategy
  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management, logistics planning or operations
  • Strong interpersonal and cross collaboration skills
  • Technical mastery in logistics work processes (loss analysis, theory of constraints, module constraints, buffer setting, integrated planning, initiative delivery, outbound logistics, material planning and sourcing, etc.)
  • Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed
  • Experience driving change and continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality and supply chain
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
