As a key member of the USCAN Health Care & Retirement team, provide program leadership of the U.S. disability and leave plans, life insurance plans and voluntary benefit programs. Additionally, lead a global, cross-functional, steering committee tasked with delivering a best-in-class employee wellbeing program. Partner with global Total Rewards team to ensure GE HealthCare delivers a best-in-class Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) worldwide. Be knowledgeable of U.S. health benefits and partner on key initiatives of shared interest (e.g., U.S. health benefit incentives and emotional wellbeing).

Focus on maintaining GE HealthCare competitiveness, while supporting our HR community in their effort to attract and retain top talent across the USCAN region. A successful candidate will combine strategy and design experience with operations and project management expertise, with the goal of maximizing employee understanding and engagement.

Interprets internal and external business challenges and seeks out and recommends innovative solutions and best practices based on current environment and business direction. Partners with internal teams (including finance, legal, medical services, benefits administration/People Operations, etc.) and external advisors to ensure appropriate vendor execution, plan interpretation and operational success.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership and communications team on creation and delivery of messaging that maximizes employee appreciation and understanding of programs
  • Leadership and direction to evaluate, modify and recommend strategies to manage disability and leave plans, life insurance benefits (including AD&D), and voluntary benefits (e.g., pet insurance, group legal plan)
  • Manage vendor relationships including evaluation of design and cost sharing strategies in line with company objectives
  • Partner with GE HealthCare’s legal, finance, HR and benefits administration teams to ensure accurate execution of plan designs, financial accounting and legislative compliance
  • Collaborate with medical /occupational health services team to gather insights on innovative strategies and program designs to improve employee health
  • Continuously monitor industry and legal trends that may influence program vendors and design
  • Global wellbeing expertise, strategy and oversight
  • Lead change efforts including planning, documentation, marketing, and execution
  • Monitor marketplace trends and offerings and identify innovative strategies to improve employee experience, reduce overall costs and drive positive participant behaviors

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years proven success leading wellbeing, time-off, and/or insurance benefits cross a highly matrixed, global organization
  • Health plan or benefits consulting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; proven ability to research, follow up and resolve complex issues or problems
  • Solid understanding of the economics impacting benefit plans, including employer and employee cost management strategies
  • Persuasive leader with ability to influence and a sense of organizational dynamics

  • Familiarity with health and wellbeing providers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working with a dispersed team
  • Demonstrated project management skills and a successful track record of partnering across functions to deliver successful outcomes
  • Strong business acumen and ability to quickly understand financials and operational levers of the business
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex issues/data in a clear, concise manner to varying levels of employees and senior leadership.
  • Ability to drive accountability and results from vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Lean and/or other continuous improvement methods

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is 132K - 198K. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
