Position Summary

This position is responsible for implementing and managing an integrated approach to HR Compliance including building awareness, training, policy and process alignment and control, and direct issue management. Through a proactive and holistic approach, the primary mission of the role is to ensure that PGATSS operates in compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, throughout multiple state locations and business entities, and treats its associates fairly and consistently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead role in delivering, maintaining, communicating, and updating Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Leads company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including those relating to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act, Department of Labor (DOL) and legal filings related to worker’s compensation.
  • Works collaboratively and provides support and operational guidance to key stakeholders to develop HR compliance solutions aimed at reducing risk and supporting evolving business needs.
  • Recommends, develops, and implements PGATSS’ approach to complying with federal, state, and local employment-related regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and delivers value-added compliance reports, data analysis and acts as point of contact for HR compliance related topics.
  • Monitors drug testing compliance for internal corporate policy
  • Identifies areas of opportunity for compliance education and training for managers and business leaders and partner with COEs to develop and deliver training, as needed.
  • Leverages an internal network to complete internal HR audits and address compliance opportunities, issues, and gaps.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and best practices related to regulatory changes.
  • Partner with the HR leadership and the internal and external Legal functions, collaborating on policy development and revisions as needed
  • Manages annual policy revisions, to comply with state/federal changes for all locations, including rapidly changing legislation in California and Colorado.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates new employment-related legal requirements and updates to existing requirement.
  • In close coordination with the HR Business Partners and Operations teams, manage and resolve complex HR compliance issues.
  • Directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance with employment-related law. Reviews all information submitted and serves as the primary contact with the employment law attorney and outside government agencies.

Qualifications & Requirements Education, Work Experience, Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including facilitating training on employee relations and compliance topics
  • A proven track record of maintaining confidentiality, meeting strict deadlines and maintaining a professional demeanor required
  • Minimum 5+ years of HR Generalist and/or Business Partner experience
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines in the areas of employment, equal opportunity and employee relations.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience managing compliance programs and/or projects
  • Strong consulting/problem resolution experience with demonstrated ability to influence all employee levels from front line to senior leaders
  • Excellent organizational, oral/written communication, and research skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and possess strong analytical and interpretive skills
  • Knowledgeable of key government agencies in the HR compliance and employee relations domains, with ability to educate internal teams on relevancy and make applicable recommendations: FMLA, ADAAA, DOL, EEOC, etc.
  • Ability to contribute to development or modification of HR compliance policies and procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field

Technologies/Software:

  • Experience with Workday a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time as the job is completed primarily at a desk each day. Variable desk heights are offered so alternatively sitting and/or standing at the desk is optional.

Travel:

Occasional travel, primarily domestic, required up to 25% of time
