Summary
Direct the day to day operations of the compliance department. Analyze and resolve problems regarding state insurance departments complaints, changes in laws and regulations, investigations (AML, fraud, market conduct) or filings/correspondence with state insurance departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Initiate projects to improve the efficiency of the compliance department.
  • Develop analytical abilities of technical staff to enable them to achieve degree of expertise.
  • Establish departmental policies and procedures.
  • Create response to complex complaints.
  • Prepare reports on operation of department.
  • Oversee complex investigations (AML, fraud, market conduct).
  • Determine impact on administrative and marketing functions in regards to legislation changes.
  • Represent the company at various industry related meetings.
  • Review projects for completeness and overall performance of compliance department staff.
  • Direct and assign projects to technical and administrative staff.
  • Assist the legal department with state insurance department audits, corporate audits, and internal audits.
  • Assist in evaluating overall Compliance Risk factors.
  • Assist in the development of new marketing materials and concepts.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years insurance or securities experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, political science, pre-law, paralegal or other relevant area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong preference for prior Transamerica experience and/or knowledge of Transamerica Operations
  • Understanding of contract law and company operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical, interpretive, organizational and negotiations skills.
Working Conditions:
The Company will determine if a position will be designated as Hybrid or Remote.
  • Your working location designation is Hybrid. Hybrid means that you will report to the Company office location 3 days per week. When not working in a Company office location, you will be expected to work from your home or other approved workspace in the U.S. OR, Your working location designation is Remote. Remote means that you will not be expected to work from a Company office location on a routine basis. When not working in a Company office location, you will be expected to work from your home or other approved workspace in the U.S.

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $85,000-$113,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company discretion.
