Description:

Position Objective:

To assist with communication that enhances the cultivation and solicitation of PETA donors and help maintain the donor-information database for the Major Gifts Department

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manipulate data to produce specialized PETA letters, mailing lists, labels, and reports
  • Assist with the preparation and proofreading of PETA mailings and acknowledgments for major donors
  • Assist with documentation of pertinent information for the purpose of enhancing and developing PETA donor profiles and relationships for the Major Gifts department
  • Maintain a clear understanding of—and the ability to articulate—PETA's objectives as well as details about specific PETA programs
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
  • Assist with the cultivation of relationships with targeted PETA donors
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of relevant departmental software (e.g., ROI, Engaging Networks) in order to improve communication with PETA donors
  • Verify, maintain, and input PETA donor data, including demographic, donation, membership, and personal information
Requirements:
  • Experience with fundraising software or similar database systems and Windows operating systems
  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Minimum of one year of non-profit fundraising experience
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
  • Proven exceptional attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Major Gifts processes and procedures
  • Proven good proofreading skills

The hourly pay range for this position is $15.00 – $19.06 per hour. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
