Job Description
  • Now Hiring Maintenance Technician In The City Of Jurupa Valley***


This is the entry and training level of the Utilities Technician series and requires limited or no experience in related areas. Employees in this classification receive supervision within a framework of well-defined policies and procedures. The job class performs semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks while learning and assisting in skilled tasks.


  • Must be able to pass background and have valid Drivers License****


Schedule: Monday-Friday


6:30am-3:30pm


Pay Range : $25.00-$26.19


Job Duties


  • Assists in disinfection of newly installed water mains and infrastructure.
  • Comply with District dechlorinating procedures and storm water best management practices.
  • Assists in flushing, pressure testing and fire flow tests.
  • Makes taps, installs valves, repairs and installs water services.
  • Able to assist in the disinfection of newly installed water mains and during emergency repairs of water mains and services.
  • Perform appropriate installation, repair, modification or fabrication duties of various District pipelines, valves, fire hydrants, air-vacs, meters, sample stations and related infrastructure per District specifications.


Requirements


  • Ability to operate heavy equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Construction/public works /traffic control experience required
  • Standard safety practices required in water/wastewater maintenance and repair.
