Harco Fittings LLC, founded in 1966 in Lynchburg, Virginia is a producer of gasketed joint injection-molded PVC and push-on gasketed joint ductile fittings. Our Harco locations span across seven states in the US and we are looking for new individuals to come be a part of a dynamic and growing team today!
We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Maintenance Technician. This role is based in our facility in Bellingham, WA and reports to the Plant Manager. This position will start at $22.31-$25.81 per hour.
Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic individual who will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and overhaul of mechanical systems used in production. The selected individual will focus primarily on the general upkeep, repair, preventative maintenance and safe operation of an assigned area and the equipment operating within.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Perform fleet maintenance on forklifts and other power industrial equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair equipment start to finish
  • Accurately read and use measuring tools
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to keep machinery in operation
  • Safety and quality conscious
  • Troubleshoot equipment as assigned by manager/supervisor
  • Understand basic electricity, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and ask questions if something is unclear
  • Comfortable working in a fast pace environment
  • Have good communication skills, able to follow verbal and written instructions and follow procedures.
  • Understanding of basic mechanisms such as gears, motors, and vacuum systems
  • Experience reading technical manuals to understand equipment controls
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and electrical troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills coupled with an eagerness to learn
  • Set work schedule Monday - Friday from 6am until 2.30pm; Overtime and Weekends as needed
  • High School diploma or certificate of completion is preferred
  • Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Experience in forklift operation and other machines or equipment is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Great teammate with a proven track record to contribute to and cultivate a positive work environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required
  • The use of hand tools
  • Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to a maximum of 70 lbs.
