The Lead Plumber is responsible for assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems; as well as study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Installs and conducts major repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers and water softeners.
• Joins pipes by use of screws bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent and caulks joints.
• Able to work extended hours and weekends when a project dictates a need.
• Must work diligently to gain knowledge and experience to execute their role to its full potential.
• Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Cuts and threads pipe.
• Must comply with all CFI policies and procedures.
• Welds holding fixtures to steel structural members.
• Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
• Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
• Properly logs electronic work orders in HotSOS.
• Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay and plastic.
• Other duties as assigned by Corporate Facilities leadership.
• Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
• Must represent CFI in a professional manner through appearance, dress and professional behavior at all times, as dictated in the Team Member’s Handbook.
• Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
• Leaves work area in a clean, neat and safe condition.

Education and/or Experience
Minimum of five years' experience and license preferred.

Language Skills

Must have good command of English, both written and verbal. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be capable of communicating in English effectively to guests, customers and team member.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills including ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide tens and hundreds; and to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid driver's license and be able to be insured under our policy for driving company vehicles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
