: Maintenance Group Leader (Manufacturing & Production)


We are a leading company in the Manufacturing & Production industry, currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Group Leader to join our team. As a Maintenance Group Leader, you will play a vital role in providing leadership and direction to our maintenance crew to ensure the efficient production of metal in an ABS environment. Your primary focus will be on productivity, safety, quality, improved recovery, reliable delivery performance, and effective problem-solving in a cost-effective, customer-centric manner.


Responsibilities:


  • Occasionally address sensitive interpersonal situations and negotiate with others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Manage assets effectively and efficiently, ensuring proper equipment operations, availability, and long-term viability.
  • Lead individual safety discussions and conduct job-specific safety reviews to promote a safety-conscious culture.
  • Collect and analyze data to aid in root cause analysis and problem-solving for major exceptions.
  • Fairly allocate and assign tasks to crew members, based on business criticality and department guidelines.
  • Cultivate a technically capable maintenance workforce that values diversity and demonstrates a customer-oriented approach.
  • Build cooperative relationships and effectively persuade and influence others to resolve problems and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Make decisions regarding crewing arrangements for planned and unplanned situations, adhering to labor agreement guidelines.
  • Manage and support subordinates, emphasizing quantity, quality, timeliness, safety, recovery, and delivery performance.
  • Drive business objectives related to quality, cost, waste elimination, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Handle differential performance situations, recognizing and rewarding outstanding efforts, as well as applying appropriate disciplinary measures with supporting documentation.
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment that prioritizes the well-being of our employees and the environment.
  • Develop the skills and expertise of team members by providing challenging assignments, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with craftspeople to apply root cause analysis and rapid problem-solving techniques to maintain or restore production.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in a union environment.
  • May require access to export-controlled technology; qualified candidates must meet necessary requirements.
  • Preferred: Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred: Mechanical background.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and HR/IR practices, including bargaining and local agreements.
  • Must meet the definition of a U.S. person as per ITAR requirements (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification required at the time of hire.
  • A working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (ABS) principles for effective business results.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports.
