ABOUT THE JOB

This position will support the Solar Innovations facility in Pine Grove, PA. As an entry level CNC Machine Operator, you will operate assigned machines that have been set up and programmed by other associates. In this role, you may specialize in one specific machine or may be trained to assist with the operation of various machines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Download pre-established programs, load extrusions or parts into the machine (depending on assigned work centers), and cycle the machine.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Work to meet and/or beat production quantity standards.
• As experience is gained, you may complete basic edits to machine programs/setups.
• Inspect extrusions/parts for quality and check for malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Accurately and consistently verify quality control of output.
• Operate modern computer numerical control (CNC) machines, such as notching saws, horizontal drill machines, punches, mills, lathes, HAAS, Elumatec, etc.
• Verify dimensions and quantities according to supplied paperwork.
• Perform daily setup and preventative maintenance checks and related activities.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience as a Machine Operator; trade school experience will be accepted in lieu of work experience
• Candidates must be able to read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
• Must be able to complete basic numerical calculations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience reading machine drawings
• Experience as a CNC Machine Operator, preferably in a machine shop or job shop environment
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
