Machine Learning Operations Intern – Fall 2023

This Fall Internship is from September through December 15th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work at least 10-29 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.

Department Description

The Business Intelligence team at SPE delivers accessible quality data in a timely manner to our business users and enabled SPE to rapidly identify and action revenue growth and maximization opportunities across all markets and distribution channels. The BI team provides reliable and consistent data services through automation to allow business users to explore the value of data for growing areas of the value chain by optimizing media acquisition to improved Box Office forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with machine learning engineers and data scientists to build data pipelines and enable the development of new ML models.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to support and maintain the infrastructure for our cloud-based applications.
• Participate in the design and implementation of infrastructure as code (AWS) using Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitHub Actions.
• Manage/deploy container clusters and workloads on AWS. QUALIFICATIONS:
• Build scalable and optimized data solutions within the team's larger framework.
• Student pursuing Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or data science.
• An effective team player who focuses on collaboration, team building, mentoring, and furthering team success.
• Partner with other MLOps team members to assist with CI/CD for our applications and infrastructure updates.
• Good communication (verbal and written) skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with large-scale models/algorithms.
• Familiarity with programming languages API.
• Expertise in linear algebra, statistics, information theory or related mathematical domains.
• Experience of databases and machine learning libraries.
• Proficiency in coding languages and frameworks such as Python, R, React.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of Docker containers and basic AWS cloud computing.
• Hands-on Technical documentation experience.
• Preliminary knowledge of DevOps processes and practices like continuous integration and continuous deployment.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $27/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
