Job Summary:

The Wound Center at Sharon Regional Medical Center is in Hermitage, PA and is an outpatient department of the hospital. The Center is open Monday-Friday 0800-1630. The Center is closed on weekends and holidays.

The LPN functions on a team of wound care professionals to support the operational needs of the Center. The LPN will provide patient care as directed by the Providers. This includes the removal and application of dressings, assisting with the application of total contact casts and skin substitutes, education, and the supervision of hyperbaric oxygen for wound therapy All educational needs are encompassed within the orientation period.

:

  • Assist with removal of dressings, wound measurements, and application of dressings per orders
  • Communicates with assigned RN regarding patient's needs
  • Identifies opportunities for performance improvement and projects designed to improve clinical performance within and across departmental lines.
  • Vital signs
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Provides direct care to patients to include:
    • Vital signs
    • Medication reconciliation
    • Assist with removal of dressings, wound measurements, and application of dressings per orders
    • Supervision of hyperbaric oxygen as assigned by Manager.
    • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Documentation of patient care in medical record.
  • Supervision of hyperbaric oxygen as assigned by Manager.
  • Provide patient education regarding dressing changes and follow-up care
  • Assist with office functions as needed, including but not limited to answering the phones, authorizations, filing, and stocking rooms
  • Medication reconciliation

Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Background clearances (as required by law).
  • Pennsylvania State LPN License
  • 3 years’ experience as an LPN
  • CPR
