Logistics Specialist - Remote | Wfh

As a Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of inbound and outbound transportation for our factory in Dayton, TN. Your role will involve working closely with customs brokers, logistics teams, procurement specialists, and transportation providers to optimize processes and deliver cost savings. Your contributions will directly impact our operations, strengthening relationships with partners and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
Track and trace international shipments, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely arrivals
Collaborate with freight forwarders and customs brokers, managing the daily operations between our factory and transportation partners
Coordinate transportation arrangements to and from our Dayton factory, ensuring efficient logistics based on incoterms
Generate and analyze metrics, providing insightful reports to management and stakeholders
Proactively identify and address bottlenecks in the raw materials supply chain
Seek out and develop partnerships with service providers to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies
Participate in quality business reviews with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers
Identify exceptional or at-risk shipments and devise effective solutions for smooth delivery
Manage and review the performance of carrier partners, making improvements to the supply chain as needed
Collaborate with procurement teams to maintain and update international transportation and customs processes
Lead and contribute to cost savings projects, working with cross-functional teams to execute plans and achieve goals
Stay up to date with industry news and best practices relevant to our business
Embody and promote the values and mission of our organization in daily actions
Requirements
Perform other duties as required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Transportation/Logistics, Operations, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, with a focus on international transportation and strong knowledge of Inco terms
Thorough understanding of US Customs processes and regulations
Proficiency in air and ocean transportation, drayage, full truckload, LTL, rail, and freight forwarding/customs brokerage processes
Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle EBS or similar
Advanced proficiency in MS-Excel
Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% (mainly within the US and Canada, occasionally internationally)
Lean/process improvement experience is a plus
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
