About The Job

The Logistics Specialist efficiently analyzes and helps efficiently manage key Logistics and Supply Chain activities. This position manages truck, rail, barge, and transload operations from multiple supply points. This role will require daily communications with carriers and customer service to ensure adequate supply and maintain key customer service levels. This role will strategically support the supply and demand management process.

• Recommend and develop activities to improve reliability and reduce costs.
• Problem solve logistics issues and challenges that may arise during the supply chain process.
• Support the planning and coordinating of movement of goods for Rail, Truck, and Barges shipments to Customers and MLC distribution facilities.
• Rotating on-call phone (Weekdays only) approximately 40 days a year
• Collaborating with various departments, suppliers, and customers to ensure a smooth follow of information.

Required Qualifications

• Skills: Proficient excel and computer experience
• Experience: 0-4 years’ Logistics related experience.
• Behaviors: Team oriented individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Continuous learning: show a willingness to learn and grow with the company.
• Education: 4-year degree in Logistics, or other relevant field of study, or related Logistics experience.
• Abilities: Strong worth ethic, professionalism, and sound decision-making ability.
