Job Description
Are you known for your attention to detail and pride yourself in being a responsible professional? Come join us as a Logistics Specialist! As a Logistics Specialist II, you assist with the preparation of our logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. You'll support routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals, and tracking logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of our storage facilities. You'll learn applicable state, federal, and global regulations and import/export requirements.
Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.

Must-haves:
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Preferred:
  • HazMat Training/Certification
  • Familiarity with AvPro or similar aviation maintenance tracking systems
  • Exposure to inventory databases
  • Familiarity with Inventory and Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques
  • Ability to operate a Forklift
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
  • Experience with shipping databases, such as FedEx, DHL, UPS
  • Understanding of Shelf Life

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:
  • Occasionally requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes
  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
  • Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors
  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
Working Conditions:
  • Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noises

  • Inspects, handles or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials
  • Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery
