Job Description
Summary You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk, Industrial Support Department of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK. Responsibilities You will coordinate objectives and plan to provide technical support and assistance to specialized supply programs represented by Naval Sea Systems Command (NA VSEA) Program Executive Offices. You will serve as a subject matter expert on interagency teams to perform analyses and evaluations of design, configuration and engineering changes for major components of new/extensively modified equipment systems. You will provide training to ship's force personnel to support availability processes. You will provide technical advice and assistance as necessary to resolve ILS problems and support for all categories of equipment. You will compile metrics and analyze trends of alteration/ship change installation efforts and make recommendations to higher authority on process improvement. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Logistics Management Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing configuration and logistical support work which requires applying a broad knowledge of logistics principles, concepts, and methods that encompasses a wide range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functionality applicable to aircraft carriers and/or naval vessel systems undergoing modernization, conversion, and/or repair. Examples of specialized experience must include: 1) Participate in the implementation of an effective program for procurement, coordinating, tracking, and distributing the Planning Yard, Design Agent and Shipbuilder Logistics Technical Data products required under ships' contracts; 2) Serve as a subject matter expert on interagency teams to perform analyses and evaluations of design, configuration and engineering changes for major components of new/extensively modified equipment systems; 3) Make decisions concerning such things as the interpretation of considerable data, scheduling of work, methods, and/or techniques to be used to identify logistics support requirements for systems or equipment installed on board ships undergoing new construction modernization, conversion, or repair; 4) Utilize information systems to establish, manipulate, manage and/or maintain data products to measure project performance, facilitate ILS management, track and/or develop reporting information required to brief appropriate officials; 5) Compile metrics and analyze trends of alteration/ship change installation efforts and make recommendations to higher authority on process improvement.
