Summary About the Position: Fort Huachuca is located in Sierra Vista in Cochise County, in southeast Arizona, about 15 miles north of the border with Mexico. Sierra Vista enjoys an average year-round temperature of 74 degrees. A small community with many amenities you would find in a larger city. Within a short driving distance are the mining towns of Bisbee and Tombstone, the "Town Too Tough to Die." In addition to local and Tucson stores, shoppers also frequent Nogales, Naco, and Agua Prieta, Mexico. Responsibilities Develops, coordinates, implements and executes logistical portions of contingency planning. Develops, coordinates, assists, prepares and executes support to mobilizing units in order to receive, house, feed, equip and deploy units which mobilize at this installation. Reviews deployment/mobilization plans for transportation requirements of supported units for regulatory conformance and required documentation, initiating action to correct deficiencies. Performs special and recurring projects pertaining to logistical operations within the installation, to include coordinating logistical support for Army Reserve/National Guard and Active components that train, mobilize, and deploy from Fort Huachuca. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Assists in developing logistical mobilization plans for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: logistics, logistics management, inventory management, supply chain management, business administration/management, and/or procurement. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
