Logistics Coordinator Jobs

World Central Kitchen, Inc. (WCK) seeks a talented and committed Logistics Coordinator to coordinate and organize the movement of goods and materials for World Central Kitchen. This position will be responsible for managing the transportation of goods, overseeing the storage and distribution of products, and coordinating the flow of materials within the organization. Other duties may include negotiating contracts with transportation and logistics providers, managing budgets and costs related tologistics operations, and tracking and reporting on the progress of shipments. Part of the Procurement/Logistics team, the successful candidate must possess strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills, as well as a solid understanding of logistics and transportation systems to thrive in a fast-paced environment and provide logistical support to our Relief Operations team.
This role will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will coordinate with the Procurement, Logistics and the Warehouse teams. This role requires a sincere commitment to WCK’s mission, occasional travel including internationally annual travel between 3-6 weeks per year, and flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends. This role is intended to be a full-time hourly position (non-exempt) based at World Central Kitchen’s main warehouse located in Capitol Heights, MD.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on delivery and shipping
• Negotiating rates with vendors and carriers
• Coordinating and scheduling transportation of goods
• Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
• Handling and resolving any issues or delays in transportation
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and laws related to logistics
• Maintaining and updating logistics systems and databases
• Providing customer service for logistics-related inquiries
• Support regional and international activations remotely
• Prepare and review shipping documentation and direct movement of materials on and off activations
• Managing and maintaining inventory levels

Requirements

• Proficiency in Inventory Management software
• 2-3 Years of Experience in a warehouse, supply chain or production environment
• Demonstrated proficiency with Airtable bases, Asana project management, Google Programs and Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• 1-2 years of experience in logistics management
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods of time
• High School or Equivalent Education
• The ability to travel immediately and directly support emergency relief activities in person
• Working knowledge of shipping and customs regulations and requirements
• Valid passport

Preferred candidates will also have a current driver’s license, be experienced with warehouse equipment (Forklift, Electric Jack, and Pallet Jack), and have previous relief or similar volunteer experience.

Expected hourly pay range: $25.00 - 26.50/hr
