Job Description
Position Summary:


Samsung SDS plays a leading role in the global logistics market with unique logistics services. With its innovative IT technology, SDS developed the integrated logistics solution called “Cello” in 2010, started its logistics business in 2012 and expanded its logistics business with Business Process Outsourcing.


As Korea’s no.1 IT service provider, Samsung SDS has completed a number of SCM/logistics consulting and system development projects for the last 30 years. Based on the extensive experience and expertise it built over the years, Samsung SDS started to provide tech-based logistics services in 2012 and has now grown into a global top-level third-party logistics company.


Logistics Business Management will oversee daily operation activities, manage and plan both domestic and international transportation to meet customer’s satisfaction. He/she will communication with customers, carriers, and internal management staff to ensure to maximize the branch operation to the growth of Samsung SDS America.


This Position will manage and operate for our branch organization.

Responsibilities:


  • Support sales and the acquisition of new business both Samsung and Non- Samsung
  • Internal and external reporting with SDS HQ in Korea
  • Conduct daily status meetings with the management team to review the prior day's performance and to develop an action plan for the current day
  • Ensure operational best practices with customer requirements and company guidelines
  • Produce reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis briefing team leaders on the issues for that particular day
  • Direct and manage daily operations to successfully deliver results. Especially customer service and finance activities
  • Utilize Standard Operating Procedures to resolve and correct problems.
  • Manage various functions related to air/ocean transportation, local distribution, drayage, logistics, and warehouse management
  • Report and conduct thorough investigations for any service failures, accidents misconduct, security issues, or claims to the concerned Dept. for immediate support and/or response
  • Develop high-performing work teams to effectively meet the changing needs of the business by
  • Increase the overall productivity of the branch by implementing relevant employee training, budgeting effectively, eliminating inefficiencies and capturing growth opportunities
  • Support motivating, organizing, and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met
  • Direct and Provide leadership and implements short-range plans and identify goals and objectives to meet the business mission and strategic plans
  • Forecast and manage yearly/monthly revenue and net income
  • Manage branch end-to-end employee process with HR: recruiting, retaining, managing performance evaluations and compensation planning working closely with HR business partner (goal setting, promotions, succession planning, and compensation planning)


Requirements


  • Strong understanding of the international transportation/ freight forwarding industry required
  • TMS and WMS system experience preferred
  • 5+ year experience as a logistics manager with a proven record of leadership and performance required
  • Great interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate openly and effectively
  • Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Working Location is Hazleton, PA 18201 or Ridgefield Park, NJ 07660 onsite
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business-related field, logistics or Supply Chain required
  • Strong cross-functional teamwork, collaboration, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
  • 13+ years of Logistics Management experience required
  • Korean Bilingual preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10% in the US

Your base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within the position. The base pay range for this role is between $120,000 ~$150,000 per year, and your base pay will depend on your skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location.
