Position Summary


A Location Manager manages and coordinates the operational efforts of an individual client location under limited supervision. Participates in the development and implementation of location policies and procedures. Manages current Motor Carriers and a pipeline of potential Motor Carriers. Conducts operational analyses, and audits current procedures to monitor and improve the efficiency of operations and client satisfaction.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Providing advice and assistance to top management in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures
  • Manage logistics services
  • Overseeing the daily operations of a location and its various components, ensuring compliance with Company, client, local, state, and Federal policies, and regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Recruit additional Motor Carriers to serve any company locations, specifically domiciled location
  • Overseeing the supervision of personnel including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluating performance and making recommendations for personnel actions; motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
  • Hold daily stand-up meetings with key stakeholders
  • Reviewing and interpreting of operating information as appropriate; coordinating and developing periodic operating analyses
  • Representing the organization at various community and/or business meetings; promoting existing and new programs and/or policies
  • Interpret and share location statistics with key stakeholders
  • Overseeing the supervision of up to 5 direct reports within a location
  • Developing or assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the location


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)


  • Motor Carrier development skills
  • Skill in examining operational procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred
  • Strong presentation skills to engage with motor carriers, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Employee development skills
  • Knowledge of budgeting cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of warehouse management principles, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Directly related management expertise in fiscal services, administration, and human resources gained through either 2-years of equivalent-level work experience or completion bachelor’s degree in business management or related discipline
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • At least 3 years of additional work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures within specialty area
  • Two (2) years or more of experience in logistics, warehouse, or industry-related field preferred
