Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Loan Servicing Clerk
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the remittance of escrow disbursements, reviewing annual escrow analysis, processing loan maintenance functions, various other loan servicing functions and working with customers, both internal and external, to provide exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Process renewal policies, remit hazard and flood insurance premiums to insurance agents/companies prior to due date. Follow up on any cancellation notices received to ensure collateral has required coverage. Prepare customer letters for insurance cancellations and any account for which insurance must be force placed.
  • Request and pay real estate taxes before delinquent and discount dates, including delinquent amounts and refunds where applicable including any and all tax problems with borrower, and/or taxing authority
  • Following through to resolve any issues that may have an adverse effect on the borrower in a timely manner
  • Responsible for proper records storage processes/tracking pertaining to disbursement, tax bill, and tax report storage.
  • Review system generated escrow analysis annually for accuracy and enter notes on the loan account in the core system explaining any surplus/shortage. Answers questions regarding changes to monthly payment due to analysis.
  • Routing of loan documents and mail; which includes sending insurance policies to Nautilus to be imaged, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)’s, escrow analysis and delivery of daily outgoing interoffice mail to mailroom.
  • Process UCC continuations as needed, update rate index weekly, and update loan accounts on core computer system as needed.
  • Assist with incoming customer calls, provide research and support services for customer contact (internal and external) regarding payments, balances, insurance and tax disbursements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalence required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Standing, walking, bending and stooping required
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
  • Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds
  • May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically
  • Limited travel required during and after business hours
