Job Description
Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) supports several lines of businesses that include Business Banking, Commercial Bank, Global Wealth Management, and Investment Bank.


Located in Chicago, the Bilateral Deal Setup & Funding Team, within WLS, is a high-volume production-based operations function responsible for booking & funding of new loans, renewals, and amendments/modifications for bilateral commercial loan products. The team also performs system maintenance transactions as art of loan restructures. Key loan accounting systems used within Deal Setup are Loan IQ, ACBS and VLS.

  • Commercial Bank - Middle Market, Real Estate Banking, and Deal Commercial Services

Deal Setup requires attention to detail, data-entry, and ability to interpret legal/credit documents. Data sourced from documents is used to enrich the loan system with customer/facility details as well as funding details, pricing rules, repayment schedules, and invoice set-up for principal, interest, and fees.


The Loan Origination Specialist IV is an experienced advanced-level processing role within Deal Setup. The candidate filling this position will be responsible for higher-complexity, fast-paced, periodic volume of work, that builds the foundation for career progression into a quality control role (subject matter expertise) or explore team leadership role (as a manager in training). Will be responsible for assisting with the entire team's portfolio of transactions (regardless of complexity) as a secondary source of work. Career progression is based on the following performance metrics: productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and contributions to the team.


Daily Responsibilities (include, Not Limited To)


  • Data entry of customer, facility, and loan details into the loan system(s)
  • Minimize credit and business risk through awareness of procedure, compliance, and bank policy
  • Comparing booking package documentation & closing checklists against internal credit systems & proposals
  • Timely attestation/correction of Quality errors and Service Level breaches
  • Maintain prompt and proactive communication with business partners as to the status of their booking case
  • Completion of assigned Deal Setup cases within designated Service Levels
  • Participating in projects and working groups as required
  • Creation of PDF batch work for quality control/two-touch and document repositories
Qualifications


  • Prior (back office) loan operations and/or quality control experience in a banking or financial services industry preferred
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy with completed work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Exceptional customer service skills including excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to consistently maintain high performance levels in stressful situations and high-volume peaks
  • Working knowledge of loan documents or ability to quickly learn legal terms found within promissory notes, credit agreements, collateral documents, etc.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize workloads while working within tight service levels.
  • Ability to think outside the box and generate ideas for process improvements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Successful completion of all periodic High Value Business Entitlements (HBVE) background checks
  • Ability to adapt to internal tracking and monitoring systems.
