Loader Operator Jobs

Weyerhaeuser’s Vail Timberlands operation based out of Rainier, Washington, has an opening for a Loader Operator. We are seeking individuals who desire to work safely in a market-focused logging environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and good work ethic.

This is a union position. The workforce is represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM).

The pay rate is $34.745 per hour. Paid holidays, vacation, health and welfare, and 401k benefits are provided, as defined by the collective bargaining agreement. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check are required.

Key Functions:

• Safely and competently operate the loader while adhering to safety, environmental, production and quality standards.
• Expected to make daily adjustments to maximize logging system output as dictated by business needs (weather, labor, truck availability, etc.)
• Perform and assist on equipment inspections and support/participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs as they develop
• Fulfill loader responsibilities and record keeping including the ability to load logs to the required standards, quickly and effectively react to sorting changes, and fully utilize trucks through dispatch to maximize the number of loads per truck per day

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have excellent listening and communication skills; ability to demonstrate open, honest, and regular exchange of information, and treat all employees with respect and dignity
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to work safely in both an individual and team environment
• Two years of experience operating a loader

Compensation: Your wages and benefits are set by the labor agreement between Weyerhaeuser and the union representing employees at this work site. The pay rate is $34.745 per hour.
