Loader Jobs

1. BASIC PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: (but not limited)
To ensure the timely, accurate, and thorough loading of all selected product staged at designated dock bays relative to assigned loads on specific predetermined trailers. The loader must ensure that each container is damage free, properly secured, and loaded in a manner that supports transit to any specified customer that is serviced by Bozzuto’s. They must fulfill their duties in a manner that ensures a finished product that delivers the utmost level of customer satisfaction, superior quality, and meets all scheduling demands. The Loader must account for all product, commodity, or asset that has been assigned to any load and ensure that a 100% service level is achieved with every outbound load.
2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION (but not limited to):

• Being able to operate a double pallet jack and select at the required productivity level; (this is the secondary responsibility of all loaders that will be expected to fulfill when asked to do so)
• Verifying that the proper trailer type is parked at the loading bay
• Ensuring that all freight is properly secured and identified with the proper I.D. pallet label
• Being able to use the SHTL loading function in WIMS
• Understanding the proper function of the Symbol gun and how to use it
• Communicating clearly, in English to any and all internal and external personnel
• Opening and closing warehouse and trailer doors and sealing trailers
• Loading all product accurately based on a provided load diagram
• Overseeing the timely closure of all loads ensuring that book out times are satisfied
• Interacting professionally with Team Members, Management, Transportation, and Drivers
• Being competent with proper load securing procedures that eliminate damage
• Ensuring that all freight is accounted for and is loaded in the trailer; this includes mail, supplies, cigarettes, shorts, e-jacks, candy, hand bills, special orders, fresh fish, etc.
• Lifting freight or pallets repetitively
• Inspecting all outbound freight for damage and addressing immediately
• Communicating to Supervision, Load Closers, and Transportation any pertinent information
• Understanding the proper procedures for loading frozen food, chicken, fresh fish, and any other class requiring special attention; displaying competency in the use of a bulk head and load strap

3. NATURE OF POSITION AND BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT
a. MAJOR CHALLENGES:
Distribution Center with up to one hundred associates working at one time
Full-time position, at times requiring extended hours to fulfill business objectives
Varying shifts (scheduled around the needs of the business, considering current shift)
Fast paced dynamic environment requiring the ability to multi-task.
b. INTERACTIONS:
With all levels of team members within Bozzuto’s, Inc., particularly Management, Transportation, and all Shipping personnel
All external customers receiving service
c. BUSINESS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Distribution Center
• Outside storage facility
