Dairy/Milk Loader Jobs

Toft Dairy is currently looking for quality candidates to fill a full-time position on our Loading Dock as a Dairy Loader. The successful candidate for the position will work Monday-Friday. This is 2nd shift, beginning promptly at 2:30 PM and is typically a 7 to 8 hour shift depending on customer demand. After the 60 probationary period with continued employment, team members are eligible for an increase in pay based on job performance and learning, medical insurance (Medical Mutual), and supplemental insurance (AFLAC) for vision and dental insurance. Additionally, team members are eligible for 401K retirement plan with company match after 6 months of employment.

THE ROLE: Loaders are responsible for filling customer orders (order picking), monitoring and rotating inventory, moving of product from refrigerated warehouse to refrigerated delivery trucks, warehousing, and additional duties as assigned.

• Standing for long periods of time are required
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must be able to withstand cold refrigeration temperatures for periods of time
• Ability to perform required tasks safely, in a fast paced work environment; ensuring food safety, quality and efficiency standards are achieved
• Punctuality is required. Being routinely late to work and/or routinely calling off of work, especially during probationary period, is unacceptable.
• Maintaining a clean work environment is critical
• Positive attitude; a passion for quality food and ice cream a plus!
• Must provide own cold weather apparel such as coat/jacket, sweatshirt, hat.
• Must be able to push/pull heavy lads (pallet jack, 2 - wheel hand cart)

Qualified Candidates Will Have

• General Safety and Food Safety knowledge/experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and good work ethic
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Effective math skills' ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight and volume measurements.
• Order picking/warehousing skills preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language; speak, understand, and read written and verbal instructions, policies and procedures
• Ability to multi-task while remaining calm and working effectively under pressure
• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to operate and back-up semi-trailers & straight trucks REQUIRED

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

Toft Dairy contains office, manufacturing and outdoor work spaces where this position is required to access and work. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, climb, bend, and twist; Frequently lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. is also required; occasional lifting/transferring of objects may be required with assistance up to 75 lbs. This position also requires a person to handle environments of different temperatures and with various food allergens present. This job is not for everyone as the work-environment is fast-paced, physical, and performed in and out of a refrigerated warehouse.
