Job Description

Job Summary

The successful candidate will develop a nationally ranked livestock judging program. In addition, the successful candidate will serve as the judging team coordinator for the Department of Animal Sciences. As the judging team's coordinator, the successful candidate is expected to recruit, advise and train coaches for the other judging teams in the Department as needed. In addition, the successful candidate will work to develop a strategic plan for the judging programs that result in coordinated efforts focused on recruiting and developing future leaders in agriculture. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses associated with the livestock judging team and other courses critical to the Department's mission. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit team members, work with 4-H and FFA programs, develop summer camps, and fundraise to support judging programs.


Required:

  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • Basic skills in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience (Bachelor's + 6 years of experience, Associate's + 8 years of experience, HS/GED + 10 years of experience)
  • Masters’ degree in Animal Sciences or another field relevant to the position

Preferred:

  • Experience in livestock judging and/or coaching
  • Ph.D.
